December 1, 2012 worldwide will be observed as World AIDS Day. Show your support for the millions of people around the world living with HIV/AIDS – Wear Red on Friday all weekend.
Nearly 100,000 adults in Florida including some straight spouses live with HIV/AIDS, and South Florida has the second highest number of people living with AIDS among U.S. Metro Areas. SFC will be honoring World AIDS Day this weekend to raise awareness that prevention and early detection can mean HIV is no longer a death sentence.
South Florida Connects, Inc. is strongly supportive of the HIV program locally from the mid-1980s to the present. We continue to advocate for the continuation of HIV programs that provide comprehensive, compassionate care to everyone with HIV.
Please continue to advocate for routine HIV testing and encourage others to take the test. Visit www.hivtest.org or text your zip code to 566948 to get info on a local HIV testing site. You may be able to test anonymously.
WEAR RED IN SOLIDARITY for the millions that have been affected by this disease this Friday and all weekend.
On World AIDS Day, we pay tribute to the millions of people living with HIV/AIDS in the United States and around the world, and commemorate those who have died.
